Welcome!
Welcome! How to use DeepZoom.
Well, install the plug in. A mac running on safari took 2 minutes to load. This has been tested on the latest versions of IE, Mozilla, Safari, Opera and Google Chrome. Also, don't forget Mozilla Firefox has the tendency to not immediately activate installed plug-ins, as in, silverlight. It may need to be restarted or even manually configured, it is not our fault/responsibility. -> this may be true for other browsers.
Anyways, so, I'll eventually find a better way to display these "Controls", but here's the jiff of it:
Key Controls: You have two modes, normal mode and shift mode and finally a special key. Let's start with that.
Control mode: You see the box in the middle and down? showcasing the number of the page you're at? By hitting control, you will enter control mode and it will be typable. Type a page that's accessible in that chapter and press Enter, and the application will move towards it as well as exit control mode.
Shift mode: holding shift, you have use of the four arrow keys (don't use it during Control mode):UP - Zoom in
DOWN - Zoom out
LEFT - Move to previous page
RIGHT - Move to next page
UP - pan up
DOWN - pan down
LEFT - pan left
RIGHT - pan right
Button Controls: Ok, so, from YOUR right to your left, we have:
Square-looking thing - You want full screen deep zoom? Click that button!
House - home, it zooms off to a point where every page fits into the screen.
Minus - Zoom off(equivelent to shift+down)
Plus - Zoom in(equivelent to shift+up)
Double right arrow - Move to the very last page.
Right arrow - Move to the next page.
Left arrow - Move to the previous page.
Doube Left arrow - Move to first page.
Mouse Controls: Alright, final array of controls. These controls are outside the textbox and chapter title control, which means neither the page number nor the chapter title will update if you use these to view pages. Here it is:
Mouse wheel forward - Zoom in.
Mouse wheel forward - Zoom out.
Left click - Zoom in to cursor
Hold left button and move around - Panning according to movement
Again, if you pan around and read some pages using the mouse controls, the others will not be updated. So, for instance, if you were to read four pages using the mouse pan, the textbox showing the page number would not update and so, if you then clicked a right arrow button or shift+right arrow key, it would zoom to the page next to the one displayed in the box. NOT next to the one you were reading. This is on priority to fix, once there's time to program again. We hope it does not inconvenience you.
That is it for the controls. But hey, if you have any problems or malfunctions, contact us immediately so we can check on the problem! This DeepZoom application is our pride and joy and we want nothing but for it to be perfect.
Be well, and enjoy!
